I’ve received numerous complaints from clients on this ‘side stitch’, stomach cramps or pain (whichever name you use it) during the run. While your legs are still strong to run, however, this sharp twinge of pain normally below the right ribcage is just too annoying and frustrating for you to keep up with the run. This ‘side stitch’ is more common in new or amateur runners, basically, runners who are not physically fit or runners who return back to running after prolonged period of lay-off.
